REMINDER: 2019 Scholarship Application Deadline of April 30th Quickly Approaching!

April 18, 2019

As you know, the CARH Scholarship Foundation is currently accepting applications for five scholarships. Each scholarship will be $1,500 per semester for educational expenses, with a maximum four years of funding. The application submission deadline is quickly approaching and I ask that you contact your on-site property management to remind them to encourage eligible residents to apply by the deadline of April 30, 2019. Click here for a flyer that can be posted in property common areas or distributed directly to residents.

Qualified applicants must be a resident of a CARH-member property; a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident; hold or be a candidate for a high school diploma or equivalent; demonstrate scholastic or work achievement; demonstrate financial need; and be accepted or enrolled as a full-time under-graduate student at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university, or at an accredited vocational educational school. (Please note, a property is considered to be a “CARH-member property” if it is under the management/ownership of a national CARH member and the annual Property Training & Education Fee has been paid for that property.)

There are two types of applications for scholarships:

  • Application for Traditional Students – This application is for those students/individuals, that are currently a candidate for high school graduation or within the past five years received a high school diploma (or equivalent); and
  • Application for Non-Traditional Students – This application is for students/individuals, with a high school diploma or equivalent, who have been out of school for five years or more.

One of the five scholarship has been reserved for a qualified applicant (if any) who has been accepted at or is enrolled in an accredited vocational or trade school program. All applicants are eligible for the other four scholarships. Applications can be downloaded from the “Scholarship Foundation” menu option of the CARH website, www.carh.org.

As a reminder, as recognition to site managers who encourage qualified residents to apply, the Foundation will present to the manager of each complex where there is a successful scholarship recipient, $250 plus recognition in several CARH publications and on the CARH website!

The scholarship recipients will be presented at a special Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, June 26th during the CARH Annual Meeting and Legislative Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia.

Thank you for your time and assistance in promoting the CARH Scholarship Foundation’s 2019 Scholarship application process!

Sincerely,

Rodney Corley
CARH Scholarship Foundation President
