Rural Development’s Multifamily Housing Program Continued Partnership with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to Preserve Affordable Rental Housing

As part of our continued partnership with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the Office of Multifamily Housing’s Production & Preservation Division is pleased to share information related to the preservation products of our industry partners.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are leading sources of mortgage financing in all markets. Under the Duty to Serve Program, both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac continue their commitment to preserving the affordability of Section 515 units by developing innovative financing solutions in collaboration with industry leaders and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This collaborative effort is invaluable to rural communities and the families living in these rural communities.
