USDA Rural Development (RD) announced today that Jen Larson has accepted the position of Director for the Multi-Family Housing Portfolio Management Division, effective May 28, 2019. This position was recently held by Nancie-Ann Bodell who was promoted to Assistant Deputy Administrator. According to the announcement, Ms. Larson brings over 15 years of private and public sector experience in the affordable housing field, in roles spanning the stakeholder spectrum from non-profit owner, manager, and developer to senior leadership positions at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Most recently, she led HUD’s Multifamily Asset and Counterparty Oversight Division where she was responsible for managing the performance, credit, and mission risk of over 30,000 multifamily assets with $90 billion in federally insured debt and over $12 billion in annual rental assistance.

Ms. Larson is a recognized leader in the multifamily affordable housing community, receiving the Minnesota Federal Executive Board Civil Servant of the Year Award in 2014. She holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Minnesota, Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

CARH congratulates Ms. Larson on her new position. We look forward to working with her and continuing the successful relationship we have with the Portfolio Management Division and all of RD.
