May 31st Deadline Approaching for CARH Scholarship Foundation Applications!

REMINDER

Dear CARH Members:

The May 31, 2021, extended deadline for the CARH Scholarship Foundation scholarship applications is quickly approaching!  If you have not already done so, please contact your on-site property managers to let them know about the CARH Scholarships so that they can safely encourage their residents to apply immediately! Click here for a flier that you can email or fax to your properties to help publicize the scholarship program and provides the new deadline date.

Six scholarships will be awarded to deserving residents of CARH-member affordable rural housing properties. Each scholarship provides $1,500 per semester for educational expenses, with a maximum four years of funding. Additionally, one scholarship has been reserved for a qualified applicant (if any) who has been accepted at or is enrolled in an accredited vocational or trade school program. All applicants are eligible for the other five scholarships.

Qualified applicants must be a resident of a CARH-member property; a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident; hold or be a candidate for a high school diploma or equivalent; demonstrate scholastic or work achievement; demonstrate financial need; and be accepted at or currently enrolled, as a full-time under-graduate student at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university; or accepted at or attending a technical, trade, or vocational school or program. (Please note, a property is considered to be a “CARH-member property” if it is under the management/ownership of a national CARH member and the annual Property Training & Education Fee has been paid for that property.)

There are three types of applications for scholarships:

Applications can also be downloaded from the “Scholarship Foundation” menu option of the CARH website, www.carh.org. Applications must be received by the Scholarship Foundation no later than the extended deadline of May 31, 2021.

Site managers play integral roles in the lives of residents who live in rural housing complexes. Due to the efforts of these managers, residents have been encouraged to submit scholarship applications in the past. As recognition of this work, the Foundation will present to the manager of each complex where there is a successful scholarship recipient, $250 plus recognition in several CARH publications and on the CARH website!

Thank you for your time and assistance in promoting the CARH Scholarship Foundation’s 2021 Scholarship application process!

Sincerely,

Rodney Corley
CARH Scholarship Foundation President
