FHFA Finalizes 2018-2020 Housing Goals For Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) submitted for publication in the Federal Register a final rule that establishes new single-family and multifamily housing goals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises) for 2018 through 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. The new goals replace the previous goals, which were in effect through the end of December 2017.

While the Enterprises remain in conservatorship, they continue to have the mission of supporting a stable and liquid national market for residential mortgage financing.  FHFA has continued to establish annual housing goals for the Enterprises and to assess their performance under the housing goals each year during conservatorship.
